Milk Quote of the Day: “In Hollywood, a marriage is a success if it outlasts milk.” – Rita Rudner

Today in Economic History: It was on this date in 1974 when President Nixon agreed to pay back taxes of $432,000 after word leaked that he had been dodging the full income tax on his $200,000 salary. And with that, Mortgage Fans, this is the official two-minute warning to file your taxes by the 15th.

Possible Game Show Answer: George Washington had only one tooth remaining in his mouth when he was sworn in as president in 1789. (*Washington, unlike most Americans, probably didn’t take the time to take care of his teeth. Did you know that we will spend over 38 total days in our lifetime brushing our teeth )

Wuss’up This Week: This is always a big week for interest rates because of the economic news on employment. Today we’ve got the ADP Employment Report (expected: 158k new jobs), tomorrow Jobless Claims, and Friday’s biggie the US Employment Report for March (expected: 200k new jobs and unemployment rate to dip from 3.9% to 3.8%). Also over the next few days a slew of Fed Presidents are speaking including Fed Chair Jerome Powell today at noon.

Interest Rate Update: Today we find 30yr fixed rates at around 6.375% for loans at $250k or less, and for loans between $250k-$766k they are ranging from the high-6s to low-7s. Jumbo loans are still high-7s for 30yr fixed and low-7s for a 7yr ARM. As usual rates will vary based on if you are a first time homebuyer, type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you like old historic pictures

Don’t forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance that closes with me I will waive $450 in lender fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like porcupine facts that can use this gift!

Milk Quote of the Day 2: “Yogurt (yoghurt, yogourt, yoghourt) is the Megan (Meghan, Meagan, Meaghan) of fermented milks.” – @mela_shea

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who correctly guessed Lady Gaga last week!

Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Curious George Save the Trees T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “My movie was released on this day in 2009 and it was quite an adventure! My castmates included a guy who is definitely (or maybe) the sexiest man alive, and a guy whose first name could be a girl’s first name too but if you saw his pic on Facebook you’d know he was a man. My first name is a girl’s name, but my last name is a guy’s name and that shouldn’t confuse you because I identify as bisexual. I’ve been acting all my life and I’m still young, so to say I’m in the twilight of my career would be wrong and right at the same time. I can talk and look tough (see my Rolling Stone interview) but trust me – I’m a princess and an angel.”

The Adieu Mortgage Haiku:

How is milk like rates?

They will be lowered shortly

And that is good moos!
