Hey, Mortgage Fans!

Movie Quote of the Day: “Everything I learned I learned from the movies.” – Audrey Hepburn

This Day in Economic History: It was on this day in 1996 when the Gillette Company merged with battery giant Duracell. Why would a shaving company buy a battery company? To make money. Aside from razors they sell toothbrushes, writing utensils, etc. Speaking of shaving, it’s not too late to view the Shaving Trick Shots video my son and I made last year

Possible Game Show Answer: Almonds and peaches are members of the same family. (*I’d like to add that it’s probably a dysfunctional family)

Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about our economy are released into the wild, and it’s these reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got the Consumer Price Index (expected: 0.6%) and three inflation reports, tomorrow Jobless Claims, more inflation reports, and US Retail Sales (*this will come in better than expected, I just bought a bunch of socks at Target), and on Friday the Consumer Sentiment Report, and Capacity Utilization. If these reports come in better than expected we’ll see rates tick up, and vice versa if the numbers disappoint.

Interest Rate Update: Today we find a conforming 30yr fixed in the mid-to-upper 6s if the loan is at $250k or less, and in the mid-to-upper 7s if over $250k. Jumbo loans (*over $726k) are in the high-6s/low-7s for a 30yr fixed. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, if the home is abandoned and your credit score.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me I will waive $450 in lender fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that find hidden gems that can use this gift.

Movie Quote of the Day 2: “An Adam Sandler movie marathon is more difficult than a real marathon.” – @hipstermermaid

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who last week guessed Emily Blunt!

Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Cheetos T-shirt.

Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: My movie was released on this date 23 years ago! Remember my character name, it will remind you of the Fab Four – and for this movie I won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress (hey, just like my mom!). In 2009 I made a flick that Time Magazine called ‘one of the 10 worst chick flicks ever made.” Hmmm, hard to believe since my costar in that movie is also a nominee for another wedding movie. What’s that, you want to talk about my costar in ’03? Alright, alright, alright – yes, he is handsome. And hey, I have had success on TV as well – remember my 2012 role on the Fox Network show that had a one-word title meaning delight/pleasure/happiness. An anagram for my name is Shout Naked, and while I haven’t taken my clothes off for movies, I have posed naked on a magazine cover.”
