Hi, Mortgage Fans!
I wanted to let you know I switched over to A and N Mortgage – a company with super-low interest rates and really quick approvals. I may have moved companies, but the blog will stay the same, so read on, my friends!

Reading Quote of the Day: “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss

I’m doing my public service announcement to help you prevent identity theft from happening to you. Really interesting article here.

This Week in Economic History: On December 20th, 1942, the American people were asked to make a huge sacrifice. Due to rationing, the government asked Americans to forgo coffee to help the war effort. (*I’m all in for this if it happens again, but if they also say to skip hot chocolate, I’m moving my family to Canada.)

Possible Game Show Answer: Nostrils that turn receive the majority of the air you breathe, which explains why one is usually stuffier than the other. (*My right nostril is always stuffed up, making me think my left is just kicking back and not doing any of the work. The good news is that I’m having a nostril intervention next week, and you’re all invited!)

Wuss’up This Week: Every day, reports about our economy are released into the wild, and it’s these reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got Existing Home Sales (expected: 4.16 million), tomorrow Jobless Claims, and on Friday, a whole mess of inflation reports as well as Durable Goods Orders and New Home Sales. If the numbers come in strong for the economy, we’ll see interest rates tick up, and vice-versa if the numbers disappoint.

Interest Rate Update: Today, we find 30yr fixed conforming rates (*that’s for any loan at $726k or less) in the low-to-mid-6s, and a Jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $726k) can be found anywhere from the low-6s all the way to the upper-6s. As usual, rates will vary based on credit score, type of home, equity in the home, and if your home has a unique Christmas tree.

Don’t Forget to Remember: For any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me, I will waive the appraisal fee! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that know what ‘Bah humbug’ actually means that can use this gift!

Reading Quote of the Day 2: “I don’t know what’s more disturbing: my son reading a billboard that says “LIVE NUDE GIRLS” or him asking if there’s dead ones.” – @shanethevein

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Pete Davidson from my last blog.

Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Tic Tac T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. (*note to Mortgage Fans: I wrote this to go out on 11/30, but with the job change, it’s a little off on the dates)

Good luck: “It was on this date in 1969 I made my only appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, so yeah – I’m older than most of the readers of this blog. I share my first name with a famous astronaut, and my last name would be considered valuable. Do I play baseball? Uh, sort of – one stadium in particular. 2011 was a good year for me – I was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame because I’ve had a helluva lot of hits. Did you know I like cherries on my sundaes? Actually, two of them. And did you I like my women from Kentucky? And speaking of those women, they’d better not complain if I never get them flowers.”

Another blog vacation??? Yup, gonna take it easy for the holidays. In the meantime, I’d like to wish all the Mortgage Fans a very happy, healthy, wealthy New Year – see y’all in 2023! (not sure why I turned southern at the end there, just roll with it.)
