Hundred Quote of the Day: “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” – Mother Teresa

Did’ja Know: Making just one extra mortgage payment a year will cut down a 30-year mortgage by 3-6 years (depending on rate). I like to take my principal & interest, divide it by 12 (months) and overpay the minimum payment by that amount.

Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about our economy are released into the wild, and it’s these reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. This week we’ve got housing data and the Fed’s favored measure of inflation. On the housing front the FHFA House Price Index will give us a reading on appreciation, while Pending Home Sales will give us a reading on signed contracts of existing homes.

Interest rates took a slight bump up yesterday but that’s the way it goes – up and down, up and down… Today you’ll find a 30yr fixed anywhere from 3.625% to 3.99% with adjustable rate mortgages a sliver lower. As usual rates will vary based on your credit score, type of home, equity in the home, or if the home is just really strange .

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me I will waive $500 in closing costs! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or co-slackers that can use this gift.

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who last week guessed Kristen Wiig . Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Blockbuster Movie Party Game? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It’s my birthday today and my first hint to you is that my first and last names rhyme. Early in my career I had small roles on Life Goes On, Northern Exposure, and The X-Files. In 2000 I starred in a movie with a Chicago actor that took place in Chicago, it’s a role that brought me to mainstream where I could star in movies where I was the lead, A couple of my favorites are one that has a title my geology teacher might love (released in 2003), and the  other sounds like a dish you’d order in a Mexican restaurant (2006).”
