Free T-shirt!: Before Covid began my son and I started a YouTube channel called The Shaving Show, it’s essentially a talk show while we shave with the guests. We were able to get a few interviews in before the pandemic, but when the quarantine began it left us with nothing to do but make this Shaving Show Trick Shot Video– please enjoy. Also, if you subscribe to our channel let me know via email or text and I will mail you a free Shaving Show T-shirt.

Groundhog Quote of the Day: “The groundhog is like most other prophets; it delivers its prediction and then disappears.” – Bill Vaughan

This Week in Economic History: It was on February 2nd, 1932 when the Reconstruction Finance Corporation was created as part of FDR’s “New Deal.” This was done in order to give loans to banks and other financial institutions in an effort to help bring the economy out of the Depression. Now, this is the part of the blog where I give you a link to interesting facts about the New Deal. Spoiler alert: there are none. My search for New Deal facts led me to dealer facts which led me to a great card trick.

Wuss’up This Week: This is a big week for economic reports that can impact interest rates. Being the first week of the month it all centers around employment. Today we’ve got the ADP Employment Report, tomorrow Jobless Claims, and on Friday the Employment Numbers for January (expected: 105k new jobs). If these numbers come in good for the economy you’ll see interest rates tick up, and vice-versa if the numbers disappoint.

What do today’s interest rates have in common with my dog? They both don’t listen to logic and reason (but at least interest rates have never peed on my carpet). All of the numbers and economic data say they should be lower than where they are now, but today we find 30yr fixed conforming loans (*$548k or less) at anywhere from 2.75% – 3.125%) and jumbo rates (*over $548k) also in the high-2s/low-3s. As usual, rates will vary based on if it’s a purchase or refinance (*banks give lower rates to purchases), type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you have an item that has withstood the test of time.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me I will waive $575 in lender fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like watching pandas play in the snow that can use this gift!

Groundhog Quote of the Day 2: “’Groundhog’ implies the existence of skyhogs, and that’s just frightening.” – @henpeckedhal

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to all who guessed Zooey Deschanel last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win an Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It was on this date in 2006 I married for the 3rd time, and then divorced him in 2015. If my ex told you that in our relationship he never felt close, would that mean we weren’t intimate? Haha. Okay, what else can I tell you is bad? Oh yeah, I hold the record for most Academy Award nominations (7) without winning. That makes me angry but my friends say, “Just chill, you’re a natural.” Well, it’s not easy to take that advice. It makes me angry that most millennials probably never saw my 1987 movie that would ruin anyone’s Easter. And maybe most of them never saw my ’97 flick which is a movie I can say, “Hey, Kamala – you’re not the first woman VP.”

Super Bowl Prediction: Chiefs 29 Bucs 24
