Hi, Mortgage Fans I know I joke a lot around here, but today my wife is very sick. If you can all say a prayer for her, I would appreciate it.  She is in a hospital with a ventilator and we need all the prayers we can get. In the meantime, I wrote the body of this blog last week and wanted to send it out to you.  The good news is I don’t have the time to fill it with the boring stuff about rates and economic news.

Talking Quote of the Day: “Great people talk about ideas, average people talk about themselves, and small people talk about others.” – John C Maxwell (*I would say that’s true because today I was gossiping about my neighbor and I’m only 5’8).

This Week in Economic History: It was on March 17th, 1862 our government gave their approval for the paper money called ‘greenbacks.’ The greenbacks were not, as had been the standard, directly backed by gold, which made the currency lose value in the northern economy, which in turn led to inflation. (*While our Treasury Department could’ve come up with a more exciting name than ‘greenbacks’ to use as a name for our currency, it’s still much better than the original name they came up with: ‘hairy backs’. Yeah, I know – I’m not that funny this morning – so to distract you here are 12 fun money facts for you.

Talking Quote of the Day 2: “If anyone’s interested, I teach a little Web Browsing 101 course every time I talk to my mom.” – @donni

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Robert De Niro last week! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Baby Riding Cow earrings(These make a great gift)! Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It was on this date in 2012 that my undercover cop movie came out – one of the two stars of the movie would move on just a couple months later to the uh, adult entertainment industry. If I bumped into you in the street and didn’t say hi, would you tell people I was cold to you? I’m a nice guy with a lot of talents – if you’re a fan of mine you’ll remember I started out as a musician – in fact, I was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as a member of a 3-letter group that stands for something this blog author does not want to spell out. But getting back to my acting, I like to star in movies where I know there will be a sequel – like this 2012 movie had a sequel, my movies with Kevin Hart had sequels, and my trilogy of movies that revolve around hair.”
