Hey Mortgage Fans!

Conflict Quote of the Day: “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” – Thomas Paine

Today in Economic History: It was on this day during the Great Depression in 1933 when the gold standard, which directly linked the American dollar to its worth in gold, was abandoned. (*Amazing to think of the time we live in now compared to how things were. My own personal Great Depression was when Hostess declared bankruptcy in 2012 and for a while production on Twinkies was halted).

Wuss’up This Week: Besides interest rates? Well, we will find out as today we have the Fed Beige Book Report, as well as a speech by NY Fed Prez Williams, tomorrow Jobless Claims, Existing Home Sales, and four more Fed speakers, and not wanting to be left out we have Fed Governor Lisa Cook speaking tomorrow. That’s a heck of a lot of Fed speakers, and 9 times out of 10 when they open their mouths rates go the wrong way. We’ll see, Mortgage Fans. Hey, speaking about rates…

Interest Rate Update: Not a fun week last week, and not much fun this week either! Today we find a conforming 30yr fixed (*loans of $726k or less) in the low-6s all the way to the low-7s. It used to be a lot easier to quote rates in the good ol’ days of 2022, but now Fannie/Freddie have factored in so, so many things that make up rates. Jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $726k) can be found in the mid-to-upper 6s. As usual, rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, credit score, debt-to-income ratio, and if you like funny pics

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loans that close with me I will waive $450 in fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or co-slackers that can use this gift!

Possible Game Show Answer: Almonds and peaches are members of the same family. (*to that I will add a dysfunctional family)

Conflict Quote of the Day 2: “I’m surprised the human race doesn’t solve more conflicts with warm bread.” – @yoyoha

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Claire Danes last week!

Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Stretch Armstrong? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question.
Good luck: “It’s my birthday today, and for a person my age I’m holding up pretty well. Must’ve been my 2008 movie that did my body good. Maybe 40 years from now I’ll say this is the end. Anyway, let’s go back 24 years to my brief TV career – it was a show with a rhyming title that only lasted eighteen episodes but later on became a cult hit. I like making movies – remember my trilogy of superhero movies (2002-2007) where I played a villain you wouldn’t be able to find if I went swimming in the Chicago River in mid-March. Have I ever starred in a movie that wasn’t as good as the book? Yep, remember my 2010 movie where the lead was/is a beautiful woman? Well, if you asked me I’d say she’s pretty.
