Marriage Quote of the Day: “Marriages don’t last. When I meet a guy, the first question I ask myself is: is this the man I want my children to spend their weekends with?” – Rita Rudner

This week in Economic History: It was this week in 1797 Nathanial Briggs was awarded a patent for his invention, the first washing machine. Here are six interesting facts about washing machines. What’s that? You think that link was boring? Me too. Okay, not washing machine-related but I did find this Stupid Human Tricks on David Letterman from ’86 where a guy changes his shirt while tumbling inside of a dryer.

Wuss’up This Week: This is an exciting week of economic reports if you like hearing about employment! Today we’ve got the ADP Employment Report (previous: 117k), tomorrow Jobless Claims (previous: 684k), and Friday’s biggie the Employment Numbers from March (previous 379k). If any of these come in better than expected interest rates will most likely tick up, and vice-versa of the numbers disappoint.

Interest rate update: Not much of a change from last week. Today you’ll find a 30yr fixed conforming and jumbo rate at around 3.25%. if you’re looking for rates in the 2s they can still be found on 15yr fixed loans and 7yr & 10yr ARMs. As usual, rates will vary based on if it’s a purchase or refinance, type of home,  equity in the home, your credit score, and if you like cool architecture.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance that closes with me I will waive $575 of lender fees. Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info onto any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like finding stuff that can use this gift.

Marriage Quote of the Day 2: “We sleep in separate rooms, we have dinner apart, we take separate vacations – we’re doing everything we can to keep our marriage together.” – Rodney Dangerfield

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Halle Berry last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Peace Sign Poster? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It was on this date in 1999 that my movie – a modernization of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew – was released. That movie was just okay, but my best acting performance ever has my fans saying it was either in the movie that could be retitled ‘Smashed Rear Summit’, or my 2008 movie that I won an Oscar for after I died – I’m not joking! Still don’t know who I am?  Well, if you mix toffee, almonds, and milk chocolate you’ll be able to guess my first name.”

Happy birthday, Collin!!!
