I’m happy to announce that this blog is free of any additives, preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup. And now that we’re thinking about food let’s open today’s blog with a couple of pizza quotes.

Pizza Quote of the Day: “When the waitress asked if I wanted my pizza cut in four or eight slices, I said, “Four. I don’t think I can eat eight.”” – Yogi Berra

This Week in Economic History: It was on July 26th, 1908 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was born  – which back then was known as the Bureau of Investigation (BOI). They changed the name when a few members formed a musical group and called themselves a BOI Band which distracted the employees from catching crooks. Okay, sorry – stupid joke, I’m. writing this on three hours of sleep so stuff like this is gonna happen.

Wuss’up This Week: It’s a quiet week for economic reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. There’s no economic news today or Friday – on Thursday we have Jobless Claims and Existing Home Sales. If these reports come in better than expected for the economy you’ll see rates tick up, and vice versa if the numbers disappoint.

Interest Rate Update: Today we find 30yr fixed conforming rates (*that’s for any loan at $548k or less) in the high-2s/low-3s, 15yr fixed conforming loans in the low-to-mid-2s, jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $548k) in the low-3s, and conforming & jumbo ARMs ranging from low-to-mid 2s. As usual, rates will vary based on if it’s a purchase or refinances, type of home, equity in the home if the home is a cool cabin and your credit score.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance that closes with me I will waive $575 in lender fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or fantastic photobombers that can use this gift.

Pizza Quote of the Day 2: “Any pizza at Pizza Hut is only $10. ANY! How is there still sadness in the world?” – @sucittaM

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who last week guessed my future wife Mila Kunis (*here’s hoping my current wife doesn’t read this.). Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Regina (Mean Girls) Oil Painting? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “Today is my birthday and I’m free! Well, physically, not mentally. Everywhere I go people are looking at me, I know what they’re thinking. You know what I’m thinking? Serenity now! Most people don’t remember I was in that episode, just like most people don’t remember how hard I worked to help raise those kids in the series where I was a regular (*and thank you scriptwriters for having me marry the hot one instead of an Alanis Morissette ex). In real life, I raised a beautiful child. When she was small I would sing Row Row Row Your Boat to her – I wish she had taken me literally, but yeah, maybe I didn’t act like I should have. Act. Haha.”
