Hey Mortgage Fans, just a note to let you know my blog will be taking off next week for Thanksgiving. In honor of the holiday here are twenty things I am grateful for: My family, my job, my clients, Barnaby’s thin crust pizza, my Rogaine even though it’s not working, the 2016 Cubbies, The Simpsons seasons # 2-9, My GPS lady (even when she gives me directions that make NO sense), my friends, anyone in our military – past, present and future, nurses, firefighters, police, teachers, Girl Scout cookies, Lucky Charms, The University of Kansas, Netflix, motivational quotes, and a nice warm cup of hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows on a cold Chicago morning.

Time Quote of the Day: “Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” – William Penn

Did’ja Know: The word ‘mortgage’ stems from the Old French word ‘morgage’ or ‘mort gaige’ which means ‘dead pledge.’ Your mortgage dies once you pay it off. I’m sad to report that my mortgage is very healthy at this point in time.

Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about our economy are released into the wild, and it’s these reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got the FOMC Minutes, tomorrow Weekly Jobless Claims and Existing Home Sales, and on Friday not much so feel free to sleep in or just take the day off. If these reports come in good for the economy rates will most likely tick up, and vice-versa if the numbers disappoint.

What do interest rates and my high school yearbook photo have in common? They are both a little hairy. But both still looking good (*that’s a lie, it was a horrible picture). Today you’ll find a 30-year fixed in the high-3s/low-4s with adjustable rate mortgages the smallest sliver lower. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and how well you know facts about turkeys .

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me between now and the end of the year I will waive $500 in closing costs! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like Pringles ping-pong trick shots that can use this gift.

Time Quote of the Day 2: “The easiest time to add insult to injury is when you’re signing somebody’s cast.” – Demetri Martin

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who correctly guessed Whoopi Goldberg last week. Want to be entered into a drawing to win Ninja Bread Cookie Cutters? Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It was on this day in 2004 my movie was number # 1 at the box office, and man – I wish I could find in real life what I found in that movie. Had I done that I never would’ve had all my IRS issues. Speaking of real life my birth last name sounds like an Italian cold cut and tells you I come from Hollywood royalty, but my stage name makes it sound like I’ve been locked up (which I was for suspicion of domestic abuse). I have a couple of Sin City movies, one I won the Academy Award for but the other one was a lot more fun to film mainly because – like I said, I’m Hollywood royalty and it was fun to dress up as the King.”
