Butterflies! Teeny Bit Better! Milli Vanilli!

Happy Quote of the Day: “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects.” – Albert Einstein

Possible Game Show Answer: Butterflies can taste with their feet! (*Sort of related but not really: a couple of days ago I was able to pick up a Cheeto with my toes.)

Today in History: It was on this date in 2010 when British boy band One Direction was formed during the X Factor UK auditions. Some fun One Direction facts to start your morning with, Mortgage Fans.

Wuss’up This Week: Not a ton of economic news coming out this week, but what is being released can still sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got Existing Home Sales (expected: 4 million), tomorrow new home sales (expected: 650k), and then on Friday the Durable Goods Orders Report. If these come out good for the economy you’ll see rates tick up, and vice versa if the numbers disappoint.

Interest Rate Update: Still in the same boat, Mortgage Fans – 6.75% for a conforming (*loans at $806k or less) 30yr fixed, and maybe a touch higher for a jumbo (*over $806k) 30yr fixed. ARMs are slowly making a comeback, they can be found around a half a point lower (and upper 5s for single family homes). As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you like Coldplay kiss-cam memes

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase that closes with me I will waive $450 in lender fees (*and much more on refinances)! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers or people whose state ranks #31 in IQ that can use this gift.

Happy Quote of the Day 2: “My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met.” – Rodney Dangerfield

Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Brendan Fraser last week! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Milli Vanilli Concert T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this week's Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It’s my birthday today, let’s all raise a glass to celebrate! I’ve been around awhile so let’s start with some recent stuff: From 2012-2015 I had roles in a handful of this movie franchise that can be renamed Starvation Competitions. In 2017 I had the lead role… scratch that. I had the lead ‘human’ role in another movie franchise where I played the leader of an army that was against the animals taking over. I’ve received three Academy Award nominations, one of them for Best Actor in my ’96 flick – and let me tell you I hustled to get that part, and all the exposure from that movie really paid off. In ’92 I starred in a basketball movie where the title may have made sense back then, but now with all the Europeans playing in the NBA, not so much. Let’s skip back to the 21st century though, where I also starred in an HBO series with a costar who never looked dazed or confused.”
