Happiness! Rates! Dexter T-shirt!

Happy Quote of the Day: “Don’t ever be ashamed of loving the strange things that make your weird little heart happy.” – Elizabeth Gilbert

Possible Game Show Answer: The longest anyone has held their breath underwater is over 24 minutes. On March 27th, 2021 Budimir Sobat held his breath for 24 minutes and 37 seconds. On average, a human can hold their breath between 30-90 seconds. (*My 2nd grade teacher – who spent most of her adult life smoking and drinking coffee – had the worst breath. When she would lecture me about how I wasn’t working up to my potential, I would hold my breath – sometimes up to 3-5 minutes at a time. It was pretty impressive.)

Today in History: It was on this date in 1998 when the Seinfeld series finale aired. One of the most iconic sitcoms in TV history, Seinfeld, aired it’s final episode on NBC where it drew over 76 million viewers.

Wuss’up This Week: Not a ton of economic data being released this week that can impact rates, although tomorrow there are four inflation reports (Core PPI, etc.) along with U.S. Retail Sales. On Friday the Housing Starts report along with the Consumer Sentiment report can shake things up as well.

Interest Rate Update: Some of you may read this and feel as if I’m cutting & pasting the same rate update every week. Sigh… I feel the same way, and believe me – the dam is building up and will break one of these days. For now though we find a conforming 30yr fixed (*that’s for any loan at $806k or less) in the high-6s/low-7s, and Jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $806k) in the high-6s. We’ve got some decent ARM rates as well in the low-to-mid 6s but keep in mind they carry a one-year pre-payment penalty. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you like fun pop music facts.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase loans that close with me I will waive $450 in lender fees (and much more on refinances)! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info a long to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like unseen perspectives that can use this gift.

Happy Quote of the Day 2: “Some people bring happiness wherever they go. Others bring it when they leave.” – Oscar Wilde

Congrats to those who guessed Don Cheadle last week! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Dexter’s Laboratory T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this week's Who Am I? question. Good luck:“My movie was released on this date in 2010 and finished third in the box office on its opening weekend (behind Iron Man 2 and Robin Hood) which I think would still make Shakespeare proud. I started my acting career on the soap opera As the World Turns (1999-2001) and then hit it big in one of this blog writer’s favorite comedies (2004) which could be retitled Cruel Females. I have a musical background so it’s no surprise that I sang in a movie (2008) and it’s sequel (2008) based on musical group that uses an acronym to make up their name. Acronyms are one thing, but Barry likes to use Anagrams as hints, and an anagram for my last name is ‘Fired yes’. If you like a play on words hints here’s another: you can put my first name in the middle of this sentence: “I need ______ hug and kiss.” But really I don’t, I married another actor in 2016 and that’s still going strong. In 2020 I earned Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for my one-word titled movie, and in the same year I won an Emmy for my acting in a movie that I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into. Well, maybe one of those words.”
